What is insomnia and which are the symptoms?
Every day there are more people having trouble getting proper sleep. These difficulties can consist of troubles falling asleep or early awakening and difficulty falling back to sleep. This disrupted sleep pattern after a while can lead to the onset of symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, stress and anxiety because of the worry that they will not manage to get proper sleep the following night.
The impact of neurofeedback on sleeping disorders is clear, since it works with iregulating the basic brain functioning, such as the management of physiological excitation.
One of the most influencing factors for rest and which affects sleep patterns are emotions (anxiety, sadness, fear, distress etc..) since they can provoke an excessive level of physiological activation which hamper a calm state needed for sleeping. The complementary treatment that we do besides the neurofeedback is the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a psychological technique used to desensitize and reprocess psychological traumas in a natural and rapid manner.
